The Final Corner....can you see what it is yet?

Lump free & diagnosis clear.

Primary vaginal cancer (rare 270 only in UK last year) and secondary lymph node, as they act as the filtration system for the body. Solution removal of all groin lymph nodes both sides  of  my torso; a 'beautiful' operation apparently meaning clean  & tidy by the medics, but 3 hours in surgery and then 7 /10 days in hospital to allow the drains to clear excess fluid.

Joy of joys, but at least I have a plan of action so tomorrow (29th May 2014), I go under the surgeons blade for the forth time in 2014. So for those confused by the has she got cancer  / hasn't she...there's a problem /no  its all clear... of my journey through cancer, I have put together a prĂ©cis of the medical bits.
Not an award winning piece of prose, but it helped me to come to terms with the timescales and adrenalin of my imminent surgery and situation.

See you in about two weeks, I'll keep writing but don't think I'll have internet to publish. And to my friends and family, those who really care, be kind to each other, I'm getting there!

Post Surgery Ode.The early hours May 2014

No bucket list, but things to get,
That book to write, that fitness yet.

To pen the poems, swim the pool,
Cry just a little, act the fool.

Ignore the goading, reject the sham,
Enjoy the loved ones. Be who I am.

Jealous people hard to please.
I leave behind me taunt and tease.

Gather by me all that's good
Shout down evil, speak as would.

Love to those whose care I take,
Thanks & honesty, friend and mate.

Look for angels wherever you go,
Unlikely people, we all  should know.

Share a smile, a touch, a kiss,
Voice & reason, talk can miss.

Now to sleep, please God to dream.
Pains sweet evasions what I mean.

Tomorrow soon, new day, new life.
Mum, friend & daughter...more living, loving wife.

Third corner...the primary source?

May 2014 saw the gynaecologist again and he concurs there is now a vaginal lump, just under 1cm and it must be removed & biopsied; scheduled one week later. Six days on (including a long bank holiday) and  seeing the radiologist again, I am having another groin lump ultra scanned.

He concludes that this lump should also be removed and biopsied and suggests that this might be done simultaneously with the gynae op tomorrow. Great so two for the price of one is a real possibility! Strange how ones perspective changes & what's important to you alters; suddenly I'm really excited about having the operation; I could be lump free!

Its a lovely evening with a full arch rainbow behind the house. What is it they say that a rainbow arches between heaven & earth & is a promise of good to come. So here's hoping the surgeon's blade tomorrow can give find my pot of gold, 'good health'.
